It’s a fundraiser. It’s a weight loss competition. It’s both!
It’s a Fundraiser:
We’re raising money for Haitian earthquake victims. We are suggesting a small donation, like $5 or $10. The idea is for people to donate and compete with another person – kind of like your own weight loss war, or donate and cheer us on. For your donation, we’ll provide a little entertainment and maybe a reason to get a healthier. To donate click the button on the right. If you want to form your own competition, send us your ideas and information at info@weightlossforhaiti.com and we’ll post it to this site.
It’s a Weight Loss competition:
This is actually where it started. Two pudgy, middleish-age guys doing a weight-loss competition. We talked about prizes and penalties to add more competitive edge and fun value but then thought our progress and competition could serve a better purpose by donating ‘prize money’ to the Red Cross and inviting others to do the same.
How it works – Support or Compete
To Support
Donate first (see sidebar). Follow the funny stuff under Competition and on our Facebook page, fan the page and share with friends so they can support or compete. Cheer us, jeer us, inspire or just watch! If you’re a business, see Sponsors.
To Compete
Donate first (see sidebar). Find some friends and set up your own competition. It can be weight loss, fastest mile, the most bounces on a pogo stick, whatever. After you donate, let us know and we’ll make a page for you under competitions where all your trials, funnies and smack talk can go. Then, make it fun! More.
Disclaimer about dieting: We aren’t doing anything stupid or unhealthy to lose weight and neither should you. You’re responsible for yourself. For a full list of stupid things we aren’t doing, see this page of stupid weight loss ideas.
